South Sea pearls

South Sea pearls come from the largest pearl oysters in the world known as the Pinctada Maxima. They are only able to breed in the warm and nutrient rich water of the South Seas: Indonesia, Australia and The philippines.

Often called the “Queen of Pearls”, they are renowned for their thick layer of nacre, glistening surface and soft satin lustre. The production of South Sea pearls could take up to four to six years of a complex process – from hatching to harvesting–making them one of the most valuable and rare living gems in the world.
